I just upgraded to 4. Normal, not pro. Every time I open my software I get error 2554, see image below.....yet when I click on the ok button the software opens just fine. Any ideas? BTW, it's also been acting up. I had to do a factory reset about 3 times last night. Every time I pressed cut, the machine didn't seem to be listening. After resetting, it would cut once or twice then the same problem. Hmmmmmm.....

Hi Sue. Melanie here. Afraid I can't help you though. I have never seen this error posted by anyone before. Given all the problems that you are encountering with the software and/or cutter in combination with the software I would strongly urge you to log a support ticket directly with craftedge support. Craftedge is the parent corp. name for the developers of SCAL. You can find their form to log a support ticket here: http://www.craftedge.com/support/support_form.php or by contacting them via email at support@craftedge.com as listed here: http://www.craftedge.com/contact/contact.html

Gigi who would usually be the primary support and help with us here on the forum has had an extended stay in the hospital and I have not seen or heard from her in a while so I am afraid she is still down - this is one of the reasons that I recommend trying to go directly to SCAL support as well. PennyDuncan who might also be more helpful then me is also not as on as much as she used to be due to her own health issues and that of her husband in the past several months. There hasn't been many others on here lately either - that time of the year I think. I did check the SCAL FAQ section which you can find here: http://www.craftedge.com/support/faq/fa ... alot4.html but didn't see anything related to this type of issue. Then I also checked the SCAL Forum found here: http://forum.surecutsalot.com and did find one user with a SB who had received the same error - they posted their question back in Dec. 10, 2015 looks like- they were told to contact craftedge support. They never came back and posted anything further in regards to what if anything support told them. I will note that they were running it on a Mac computer. Not sure what computer setup you have it running it on. This is the thread from there: http://forum.surecutsalot.com/viewtopic ... error+2554

Thanks so much. I will definitely do that. Yes....I'm on a mac, and assumed that was the issue. At least it works, so that's good:)

Have a good day.

Sue

Hello suemcnenly....might I also suggest trying to completely uninstall 4 empty your recycle bin.....do a restart of your computer then reinstall the software....see if that will resolve your error issue......I...like MeFlick have never seen that error message before either...

Thx PennyDuncan. I will do that. Unfortunately Craftedge was not able to help so far. They have given me many links to run to fix the problem, but none worked. I'll get there. I've also got some other weird program stuff happening! I think an uninstall and re-install can't hurt....but this problem happened right off the bat on a new install:(

Thx
Sue

Since you mention that you are having other weird program issues (I assume different than SCAL?) it could be that you have a program interfering with SCAL. I am glad you are working with Brandon - he will stick with you until it is figured out. It's an error I have never seen either.

Am hoping an uninstall and clean install will help. Keep us posted.

I am not familiar with the error. I would contact Brandon at Craftedge (info@craftedge.com) and explain the situation to him.
