Layer Properties--Need Help Please

I have searched both Craft Edge and this forum and I'm not seeing the answer to my dilemma. I cannot change the name of my layers in SCAL 3.
In SCAL 2, I could either right click on each layer and type in a name on the "Layer Properties" box or use the little arrow in the upper right gray area to do the same thing.
In SCAL 3, I cannot change the name of the layers either way. A right click does nothing. The window pops up if I click on the arrow but will not allow me to type anything in the box.
This is extremely frustrating. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to change layer names? Maybe my version of SCAL 3 is not up to date?

Just double click on the layer name and you will get a pop up box and you can change it to whatever you want. Hope that helps.

OH Gigi, you have saved my head (from banging on the wall)! So easy but I could not find the info anywhere. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! One more question...how do you delete an unwanted layer. Again, the usual "SCAL 2" way (right click/delete) isn't working.

HIghlight it and then hit the trash can at the bottom of the box.

You are welcome. Just glad I was able to find the answers by playing around- you taught me too! (although I have trashed many a layer in the past!!)
