Tiling feature

Has anyone used the tiling feature in scal? Or know where I can get instructions? I don't have time to just figure it out right now, but would love to try it. I'm so not a "wing it" kind of girl, lol! :D

Hi Denise,

I haven't seen the tiling feature. I a couple of versions behind on my updates. Is it something new, or am I just missing it? Sounds like something fun to play with when I get a moment. I have a giant multipaned window that I like to create scenes for. It would be fun to do a Halloween themed one. When I get time to play around with it, I'll be sure to let you know.
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

From what I understand, it's basically the same as cutting normal, you just make your design the desired finished size and tell it how many tiles you need (what your machine will cut) and whethere you want an overlap or not. IE: if you have a Lynx with a cutting width of 12" and your design is 40" x 58" you would select 4 tiles x 5 tiles and then it will allow you to cut your desired finished size with your machine that will only cut a 12" max width...clear as mud?

Oh, and if you have tiles that are all blacked out when you get through with "telling" how many tiles you want and click okay - click on the little dot to the left of each "tile" and it will show up with a knife blade and you can cut them one tile at a time....more mud?

You're welcome! Let me know how it goes because I haven't actually cut anything from it! Just played around some to "see" what would happen.

Where do we find the tiling feature? What version of SCAL is it in? I may not have the latest version, but I'm not that far behind, when was it introduced?

It's under Object>Tiling. I am not sure when it was introduced but obviously it's in the latest version! :) I am not sure if I remember seeing it earlier or not - in fact hadn't noticed it until Denise asked the question! Thanks Denise!!

Thanks Gigi... I have 3.052 and it isn't there, so it must have been introduced after that. I just loooked and the newest version is 3.067, so I'm further behind than I thought I was... LOL.

Okay, I guess I will have to update my program, and see what all else is new.... I just wish I could do some crafting.. but it is going to have to wait a few more weeks.
