Overcut question

Overcut question

Postby dlhill » August 14th, 2012, 9:06 am

I have not been using overcut in scal-Should I be using it? All the time, or just certain types of cuts/mediums?
What difference does it make?
I have read a few posts where overcut is mentioned, and really hadnt paid any attention to it before, but wondering if I should lol
Thanks for the help :)

Overcut is used to "finish" a cut...if you aren't having any issues with your cut lines completing(meeting at the ends) then I wouldn't worry about it.

denise - you saw me reference the overcut because I have a tendency to cut heavier materials, like plastic templates for quilting etc.

Overcut frequently comes into play for heavier media. For regular cardstock, vinyl, and thin cardboard (like cereal box stuff), usually does not have to be adjusted.

I think I have mine set at 1.0--I had some trouble cutting completely on some my my tee shirt transfer material, and that setting solved the problem, so I just left it there.
