Loading SVG from Inkscape?

I designed a file in Inkscape that I want to Print and Cut with, but when I open it in SCAL3 I can only see the cutlines. How do I get it to open the rest of the file so I can print it first?

I've watched the video several times now, and the only reference to opening a file from Inkscape mentions an image file that is separate from the cutlines. I thought I could have them both saved in one file, just in separate layers. Is that incorrect? Do I have to save my file in two parts? One as an image and the other one with the cutlines?
