Which version of Inkscape?

Which version of Inkscape?

Postby Scrappin Granny » February 28th, 2012, 11:53 am

I am a brand new member of the board and am excited to learn as much as I can before I purchase the Lynx. I have used Inkscape in the past, but don't remember which version it was. Can anyone tell me which version is the best? I noticed that someone on the board said to use .47, but I also notice there are other more recent versions.

I will be using SCAL 3, and my operating system is Windows 7.
Thanks to anyone who can help with this!!!

Inkscape.47 is the one that is compatible with the Cats - the later versions are not - yet!

Enjoy learning -you will love your machine!

HMM I use 0.48 and havent had any problem why isnt it compatible? I dont use it all the time so I may not have had the issue yet. LOL

I just know we were told, that .48 shouldn't be used because signcut had some problems with it. If you don't have problems you are ok. Some have others haven't. I know there are some neat new features in .48.

From my personal experienc (nothing official here) - the main thing is the export to signcut may not work in .48. However, if you don't use signcut for cutting, you may be just fine with .48. Just know that if you ever run into problems that it may be good to just double check with version .47.

pat of the issue it that some virus protections see the plugin for inkscape to the signcut program see it as a virus and removes it so it causes it not to work properly. I have set mine to ignore the part it thinks is a virus and have not had issues since. I have .47 on this computer and .48.3 on the other one.
