Inkscape 0.47-3 problem

Inkscape 0.47-3 problem

Today I keep getting the following message:-
the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application.


Have uninstalled & reinstalled & uninstalled . . .

Installed 0.48.2 & keep getting the following message:-
Inkscape encountered an internal error and will close now.
Automatic backs of unsaved documents were done to the following locations: . . .

So, any suggestions?

Did you reboot your computer after uninstalling. That helps somtimes

I had that before and a reboot fixed it.

Try this: After you uninstall it, completely delete the program files/Inkscape folder before reinstalling.

That didn't work either, but I'm happy to say I'm finally up & running again. Perhaps I'd better not say that too loudly, have had so many OS/software dramas lately!

We had the same problem a few days ago. Google produced all sorts of vague ideas but generally it seemed to be an unknown occasional problem. Luckily I needed to install some Win7 updates so I let that go ahead and behold when I re-installed Inkscape, it worked again. Not really a solution, just lucky.

I've had this several times.
The first time was fixed by updating windows, but afterwards I could only fix it by uninstalling recent windows updates.
