I guarantee you that it is a false positive. We have know about this for several months, and Signcut even have a report on their website, see below -

Some antivirus software falsely report part of SignCut as a trojan called Trojan.Fakealert.28556.
This is a false positive reported by a few anti virus software (there's a list below showing which AV's tend to report LiveUpdate.exe as this trojan) when SignCut contacts the server looking for updates and changes.
SignCut verifies and checks the files on our server 3 times a day with state of the art antivirus software. You can be sure there are no viruses in the files on our server. Because SignCut modifies other programs - installing plugins to allow for the export of files directly to SignCut from Illustrator, Corel and Inkscape some virus scanners flag that as a false positive. We suggest you either set your virus scanner to make an exception for SignCut or turn it off , then do your install and then turn on your virus software again.
