Kotchfam's Assorted Projects

I wouldn't call any of these masterpieces, but this appears to be where we post projects.

I've had my Black Cat Cougar since the end of May & I'm still learning the capabilities of it. There are snags & straight up walls I've hit with it (Still don't have the drivers working on my desktop - my laptop works fine though) but I am having fun testing the capabilities of it. I am working on several projects that are a little outside of the "box" so to speak, but here are a few of them.

Heat Transfer Vinyl - Cast shirts for a performance company

Chrome tanned leather on veg tanned leather.

Salt water etch on brass.

This is my first plotter/cutter & I still have a long way to go, but I will at least enjoy the journey :D

Looks GREAT and I just love that you have given me new ideas of what I can do with my SB. I will have to look up salt etching and give that one a try. Still waiting to do something with leather. :) Love the shirts!

Awesome! Love 'em all, but the salt water etching fascinates me. Gotta look that one up....

Thanks, all! For that particular salt water etching project I used a sharpie as a resist, then shadowed the inside of each piece at .025, .050, .075 & etc until the inside was "colored in". I think it was a .5 tip sharpie that I used. Vinyl is superior in most cases but I haven't mastered vinyl at this point in time & the smaller details tend to pull off the backing during cutting at times.

I'm glad to have inspired other artists & I hope you'll share your etching projects, too.

I am new to salt water etching but I am open to sharing my experiences or answer questions on what I've discovered so far.

All my best,
~Kelley

Terrific projects! The tees and leather stays/jumps are very cool. And I am fascinated with the salt etching as well.
