Sculptural box

Postby suemcnenly » February 8th, 2014, 5:27 pm

Hey guys. I'm new, only had my machine for a bit, but I LOVE it! I'm a silver artist, and usually concentrate on sculptural boxes and non-jewelry stuff. I work TINY:) This box is about 1.5" diam. I'll be incorporating more silver in the future, but this was an experimental piece to get the math right etc. Couldn't be bothered with getting the lighting and white balance of the photo right today, but you get the drift:) BTW, I have fallen in love with the 60 degree detail blade...it's all I'm using. I know this does not look detailed, but there are .7mm holes incorporated throughout for alignment, and they just popped out so nicely with the detail blade.

That is so awesome, Sue! I am intrigued with the idea of cutting clay! Looks like you are getting along with your new Bullet just fine!

Thx Elizabeth. I'm actually teaching a craftcast in which I show how to cut metal clay, but this is just a bonus at the end, and it uses the Silhouette. They are all the same though when it comes to metal clay. https://www.craftcast.com/classes/silho ... and-beyond. The class would be too basic for you, but thought I'd share. Clay is really easy to cut.....the machine doesn't know it's clay....it just knows it's something to be cut:)
