Dorm projects for DD

Postby Elizabeth » September 5th, 2013, 9:25 am

Hi Everyone,

Well, tomorrow is the big day for my daughter Naomi. She is spreading her wings and flying off to college. In the past couple of weeks, I have made two projects for her dorm room. She asked for shabby chic/vintage and this is what I came up with:

Those look fabulous, Elizabeth - and what a milestone for both you and your daughter. Oh how I remember sending them out the door. Such a happy and sad time all rolled into one...... Enjoy the journey.

And how special that she will have beautiful things from her Mom enhancing her dorm room. Love that!

Stunning! She is going to have everyone wanting one like she has....they are just beautiful. And what a special thing that she will cherish and each time she looks at them, she will think of you.

It's not easy letting them spread their wings, is it? It is the day that we spend 18 years preparing them for but then when the day arrives, we both rejoice that they made it and yet, sad that the day came so much sooner than we (parents) are prepared for. LOL. It is a bittersweet day.

Those are great, Elizabeth. I think that it is wonderful that your daughter wants something that you made for her in her dorm room.

Thanks, everyone! The cars are packed and ready to go. We are debating a late night dessert run to make the last evening last longer.

I hope you made it last a little longer. It is great seeing them grow and spread their wings. Yet the heart grows a bit sad at the change!! Hugs!!!

I just left our only son in Waltham (suburb of Boston) for grad school so I get how you are feeling....

It is exciting to see them reach out for their dreams, but I sure do miss him! Thank heavens for Skype!

Beautiful work on them both Elizabeth. Hope all went well with the college drop off and that you managed to get in that last late dessert before taking her!
