I'm considering buying a silver bullet to make stencils for painting on wood. Has anyone done this....pointers?

I was going to mention Tami but you beat me to it. I haven't cut stencils but several do. I do cut vinyl stencils for etching glass. I just love being to make my own design and then cutting it out and watching people's faces when I tell them "I did that". LOL.

I've cut several stencils, also. I use plastic placemats that I picked up on clearance at Michael's. I don't have a caliper to measure the thickness, but it is a bit thicker than the mylar (I believe) stencils from Crafter's Workshop. As everyone else has said, these machines cut it effortlessly.

(I also cut lots of paper stencils. Once I use them a few times with acrylic paints and gel mediums, they become sturdy enough for my purposes.)
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
