Two Toned Engraving

I don't usually get around to too many projects, but there are some dates you can't forget. A birthday is definitely one of them!

This was the easiest card I have made! I used alcohol inks on the aluminum engraving metal from the store before engraving. Using different colors, you can get virtually any color you would like as a metal tone! I picked the color scheme and then the color I wanted the metal to be. The engraving took about an hour and a half, but there was a pretty tight cross hatch fill, and I could get other things done while the machine was working. I attached everything using the double sided adhesive sheets. The gold leaves are actually the heat activated foil - just cut out two leaves and pressed them down with an old Iron. I am no professional, but like I said, it was easy, and I think it turned out great!

That is stunning. I guess I could use the alcohol inks to make my own two tone metal sheets.

Great work Tyler! Love the alcohol inks on the metal and glad you didn't forget a birthday.

I don't even iron LOL! As soon as the dryer beeps when it stops I hang up my clothes so I don't have to iron. Some things come out a little wrinkly but I have a clothes steamer to give it a quick swipe. Sometimes I say it looks good enough, who really cares! As you can tell I am not very domestic.

Awesome Job Tyler. TFS - Like you, I haven't had a lot of crafting time of late. I still need to get to work on my "Got to Have It all" package from your store. Seems you forgot to add in "TIME to CRAFT" in that package! LOL

You didn't say who's birthday you didn't want to forget? Who was the card for?

So did my son. His pants, too. But, as soon as he got out of law school, he emptied his cache and that cookie went with it.

Really, the card is gorgeous.
I received my order in the mail today. Fast service. Thanks!!!

Thanks for all the nice complements - I thought it turned out pretty slick and have some other ideas I need to tinker around with. The alcohol inks were one of the things I have toyed around with since I started looking at metals. When I tested this engraving metal, I knew it was the perfect for the job!

I wish I could put "time to craft in the got to have it all package! But then again, I would probably use it all up for myself. You will really like the stuff when you get around to it. Each piece in there has its own claim in projects. The metals, fuzzy papers, vinyls, chipboard really help to embesllish projects without tons of effort! I was doing something with the heat transfer vinyl the other day (nothing amazing, just tinkering around) and I was amazed at how easy it was to work with. And besides that, it was just plain fun!

The card was actually for Nicki. :-)
