Good evening. I wanted to share a quick scan of my first engraving project I did with my Cougar. Let's see, I believe I ordered my Cougar back in late November and got the engraving and embossing tools with it then. It's now the end of May, so it has taken me approximately 6 months to get brave enough to try this with my Cougar! LOL Once, I did it though I thought - Gee, THAT WAS EASY!! :o LOL Now there may be no stopping me!

This is one of the 6"x6" Acrylic Covers sold by Zutter for use with the Bind it All. I was in HL yesterday and they had 2 sets of covers marked down to $1.79 each so I figured what the heck, I'll get them and try to do something with my Cougar and engraving tool BEFORE I try to use some of the cool stuff that I got from Tyler in my "Got to Have it All Package"! LOL So, since I discovered how easy this was, Maybe it won't take me another 6 months to try some of the stuff I got from Tyler or my embossing tool! ;) I may have some time now that my kids are out of school for the summer too! But I will have to be fast, Football and Volleyball practices will be starting back up too soon!

We are going to Disney later this summer and I love all things Mickey so I thought I'd make an album cover for the pics. Course if that happens (Photos end up in it - that will be a first too! Have yet to "scrapbook"!

That is way cool. I got my Cougar about the same time (in Nov) and have yet to try anything but cutting and using the pen tool. I think I'm going to have to get brave and try some engraving and embossing soon. And also try cutting all kinds of different media.. besides paper... LOL

This is so neat. I didn't think I would need the engraving tool but now it's on my list too, oh my list is getting long. Thanks for sharing.

I love what you did - great job!

And I have had my machine a lot longer than you guys and I have not embossed or engraved either. You are all giving me the kick in the ____ to push out of my comfort zone and try new things!!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. It was simple, but simple enough that I was willing to give it a try! LOL

Glad to help enable you more Phyllis! LOL

Angel, GiGi get to work on trying out that engraving tool - I promise it really was quite simple - I used painter's tape along the edges to hold the acrylic on the mat, put the engraving tool in, and simply hit "cut" like you do with paper (then held my breath! LOL)

Now, to figure out doing a "fill". That may be above my abilities just yet! LOL
