Here is my first cut (OK second cut - first was a very simple scalllop mirror - nothing special - but this is my first complicated cut and a challenge).

This filigree frame came from the gallery within .mtc. I have no idea who the original uploader was. I did not edit any nodes on this, simply placed in .mtc, cut at knifepoint, and it simply did it. So amazing. The flower is my photoshop brush flower that I transformed last weekend from a photoshop brush. I actually cut on regular cardstock, then inked up the cut afterwards with color box. I wanted a very elegant finish, as this card is intended for a sympathy card - my neighbor down the street lost his wife, and we have been living together on this block for over 20 years. I used my bordering blue SU paper as the base, and that color is now discontinued and you can't get it anymore, so if I used that paper - you know it has to be important!! I layered with vellum as I wanted a beautiful look, and vellum does it for me.

This machine, in 2 days, has already exceeded my expectations. I intend to do more cutting in the next few weeks to build up my experience and then attempt more complicated materials. Right now, I just want to throw nodes at this thing as see what happens!

I used the regular 60 degree blade on the intricate cut. My initial cut (the scalloped mirror) was done with the 45 degree blade, but, as I switched media, I found I liked the 60 degree blade on cardstock better than the 45. I started with the 45 as I heard everyone here likes it for cardstock, but I like the reg. 60.

Ummm, since I think I messed up my 60 blade cutting glittered paper, I'm afraid to put my one and only 60 blade back in, I'm using a Cricut blade right now, so so afraid of messing up the Cougar blades. I have got to release some of this fear and go for it; I just don't want to be without a Cougar blade if I mess up. Guess I'll never know the full potential of this machine until I do. :hide:
