Suzan's castle file :)

Have more fun than yesterday. We had to do that when I worked at the hospital. We would have mock disasters at the airport.

Well I you all don't have to apologize. I emailed him and he can't wait to see what Kathy does. And Lisa I think, where does one get magnetic paint.

LisaH wrote:Ooohhh...if you frame a section of the wall and paint inside that with the magnetic paint, you could then cover that with the vinyl castle/background and laminate all of the other parts and put magnets on the backs of them and he could create his own stories with movable characters.....just thinking out loud LOL

Oh LIsa - what a clever and cute idea!! The framed area could even be part of the castle (so it's like a room inside - or there could be frames scattered around for different scenarios!)

I think we are all reliving our childhoods through this project and Aiden!!! I am so excited for him!

I think Aiden just ended up with a ton of new Aunts to spoil him. LOL I am loving it. I have 2 nephews and 1 so called niece. But they are all trouble. I think I need to start spoiling some other peoples kids right away.

Funny Suzan! And as an only child I don't have any nieces or nephews and would love them!! So I agree - Aiden's family is clearly growing!! :)

I am an only child also, but Bryan has a sister who had 3 kids, Not trying to be mean. But they are very bad and we don't have anything to do with them if possible.

I just searched for magnetic paint and found that Krylon makes it in a gray spray paint and then you can paint over it with any colors. Since I live in a rental I don't know what the landlord would think of me painting a wall all up but I think I can make a large board, paint it and hang on the wall. Then I can arrange the scenery and such on it for him to play with the characters on it. Time to start shopping for some materials LOL

Kathy, if you can't paint, then just get a sheet of tin from Lowes/Home Depot/hardware store and frame that with something like a larger old mirror/picture frame. You can hang that on the wall, lean it up or even hang it on the back of the door. This can also be painted and give you the same effect, just mobile.

Thanks Michelle!

That's a good idea too Lisa. I was reading up on the magnetic paint and it says you can use it on wood as well, so I think I will try it on a small piece of scrap plywood I have and see if it works well. If it does then I can do a larger piece, paint it up with back drop scenery and then put the castle on that and from there he will have his play area.

Wow. Nice idea. It will be like Aiden's on little mystical world. It is so great to inspire the imagination.

Thanks Lisa and Lindalou! I am hoping to do cut some of the files this weekend but the board/whatever for the wall will have to wait a bit. Going out of town Monday and won't be back until the following Sunday.

Thanks Lisa! I am just trying to figure out what the heck to wear in New Orleans this time of year - hot and humid and I know that but I have to be in meeting rooms all day for three days (ugh) and then out seeing some sites and hitting the French Quarter for some great food and jazz!
