Father's Day card for my DH

Father's Day card for my DH

Postby Elizabeth » June 16th, 2013, 7:00 pm

Here is the Fathers Day card I made this morning for my Hubs. (Leaving it 'til the last minute as usual!)

It is almost an exact copy of one I pinned on Pinterest a bit ago, while trolling for guy cards.

I used my Foil Master, and discovered that I need to turn the heat up if I am doing a sandwich of cardstock/cardstock/foil/cardstock. I normally just do cardstock/foil/cardstock, and cut it after foiling, but this time I cut first and then foiled, and needed to add an extra full size sheet of cardstock to the sandwich.

Wow Elizabeth - I love that - the colors are great too.

You got a super shot of the foiling . I have a hard time capturing the sheen.

Very nice Elizabeth! I was just like you - making the Father's day cards at the last minute this morning! ;) Good thing DH decided to do lots of yard work this morning! :D Of course my kiddos thought it was better to take cards I had made then to make their own! So I went simplistic and then found 1 "incomplete" from last year and finished it off and then DS used one I had previously made as well. Maybe I will try to get pics of them tomorrow and share. These and the shirts I made for DH's partner's retirement is the first crafting I have done in months it seems!

Thanks, everyone!

Glad I'm not alone in being "last minute Lizzy", Melanie!

Gigi, I don't usually have good luck taking photos of the foil either. Because I packed up my "photo booth" last week, (It is too ugly to keep out when we have a party) I just laid the card on the table by the window and took the pic from directly above. I had to Photo Shop a bit more than usual to decrease the shadows this way, but it did work well for the foil. I think the angle was better. I will have to experiment some more once I have time to set up my "booth" again. (My booth is a piece of tissue paper taped to the window as a diffuser, a piece of cardboard covered in aluminum foil as a reflector, and a couple of blank stretched canvases as a backdrop.)

Great card!!! My DH didn't get a card from me this year. I know, I am so bad. I barely got one done for my dad and FIL.

I am so glad that I am not the only one that didn't make one for DH...... :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: I had to rush to get FIL's out in the mail which will get to him a day late. Oh well, I did go visit him on Friday to check on him ( that was the day I was going to make the card). He didn't sound good on the phone so I got worried and drove out there to visit. He was doing better and we had a great visit. So I worked on the cards on Saturday.

Thanks!

(I didn't make DH an anniversary card! It was on the same day as DD's graduation and party, so I just didn't have time. I wouldn't have minded too much, but he found time to buy a card for me!)
