open signcut, click help> reinstall export-plugins. Make sure inkscape is closed before installing.

Open it up, go to the extensions menu>export>send to signcut.

Tyler, I was trying to do this and I got the following error. I'm using the trial version of signcut, to decide if I really need to buy it or not yet... so not sure if that matters. I do think my antivirus software kept something from being installed when I first installed signcut... so not sure if that is my problem or not. Can I uninstall and reinstall Signcut and still have my weeks trial to play around with it. I would love to be able to send my files straight from Inkscape, instead of saving it and then opening in Signcut.

I uninstalled Signcut and reinstalled it, with my firewall turned off.. every thing went well. Then when I tried to send something from inkscape to Signcut, I got the warning that it was blocking a virus. So now not sure what to do, other than save in Inkscape and open in Signcut. I don't think I'm going to worry about it too much, until I decide to buy the software.. if I can't come up with the money for it right now, it won't be much of an issue.. LOL

Norton does have some issues (and other antivirus stuff could be flagging it as well) - you need to put the folder on the ignore list for it. Then, you need to reinstall. Norton has been notified that there is not a virus in the program, but haven't done anything to fix it.

If you really want to get it fixed, let me know and I can send you some instructions. There are some threads on the BC UK forum about it.

This is where you can find the instructions for excluding Signcut from Norton/Symantec

I tried it; got the same message as Angel. I followed Dawn's link and I get the message: Error opening file for writing c:\Program Files\Signcut\GITKUSBP.DLL

Kim, are you using a PC? If so try just installing Signcut over the top of itself, that will re-install the export plugin

Dawn-I'm on my lap. I followed your link, http://www.blackcatforum.com/index.php? ... =2567&st=0 then turned off the firewall and restarted my computer. The error message I got is: c\Program Files\Sign-cut\plug-ins.exe failed (error 740: the requested operation requires elevation.
I closed out of that and a box was up that read: Can't close registry key 'HKCU\software\signcut Error 6: the handle is invalid.

Kim,
how did you go from the Can't close registry key 'HKCU\software\signcut Error 6: the handle is invalid to cutting.
was it just a power down, wait, power up or what

Gaz - not sure that Kimmy is on. That was back in May when we were setting up her machine. Are you having a problem?
