Matching up Screen Placement to Machine Placement!!

Matching up Screen Placement to Machine Placement!!

Postby fagan339 » February 1st, 2013, 12:55 pm

I have a 24' Silver Bullet Pro and I have tried multiple different ways but still I can not figure out how to match my image placement on my computer screen to the cutting area on my mat. Example I will enter in a 12x12 sheet and when I come to cut the machine goes to a totally different place to cut. Do I load my matt width ways or long ways? Can someone explain to me how to cut my images exactly whereI want them to?

My first question would be, have you registered for the learning center and if so, have you looked there for answers?

2nd - Since this is in the SCAL board, I'm assuming you are using SCAL to cut with your SB. Is your mat set to Portrait or Landscape? This determines where your placement on the mat should be for cutting. And are you using Origin Point cutting or WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) to cut?

Set your virtual mat orientation to portrait.
Set the size to the same as the transparent area of your mat.
Put your mat into the cutter so that the top of the virtual mat is the same as the back of the physical mat.
Place your media in the bottom right corner of the translucent part of the mat.
Set the origin to the bottom right corner of the translucent part of the mat.
If you now use WYSIWYG everything will cut in the same placement on your physical mat as on the virtual mat

That is why we recommend using the pen tool while you get used to your machine. That way you can draw your shapes and get accustomed to where they will cut without potentially damaging the mat or blades and gaining some comfort with the machine and the software.

This was posted under Signcut. I just want to be sure which software you are using so we are all on the same page with you :)
