Lisa, I was the same way, I could not GET Inkscape.. then I decided to just take my time, and learn ONE thing at a time.. and as I watched videos, and read tuts, it all started to come together. Now I'm no expert, but I can do so much more with the program. Check out the tuts on the BCUK forum.. there is a lot of good information there as well. Sometimes, all it takes is someone explaining something a little differently and it just clicks. My problem is remembering what I learned... I need to keep using it until it sticks in my brain. :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO:

@LisaH You will love Inkscape if you get the hang of it. It is so much better than the others once learned. Gives so many more options. Sign cut is so easy too.

You're welcome, everyone, for the pointer to Carolyn's forum. She is an excellent teacher. I first discovered her when she ran her blog which I used to follow - mostly for tips for the Cricut in those days. Then she closed it and I kind of lost her. then I rediscovered her through Youtube and her brilliant videos when I joined the Black Cat UK forum, and immediately signed up! she's very friendly and helpful and will answer any questions, as will other members on the forum.

I found Inkscape totally alien and unfriendly and awful initially, and gave up on it. Then I tried again, and now there's no stopping me! Suddenly the penny dropped and I was away. You just need a bit of help in the right direction and it's not so bad.

Gigi, You have it and here are some of her earlier ones. I think she transferred most of them over to your link. http://www.youtube.com/user/cuttingtimes
I know I learned much more from watching and I am still learning. I haven't been to the forum much yet but I will if I need to learn something in a hurry. Which would be most times.

Penny~ I had bought my kitty with sign cut...opened it...and looked like this  I had NO idea how to use it.. :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO:

Then I bought MTC...and I figured out how to do the print and cut. It was nothing like what I was capable of doing in my old silhouette sd program. I am mainly a print and cut kind of gal..and I was crashing the poor MTC with my images. So I figured out Inkscape..and then :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: :ROFLMBO: just laughed at myself because sign cut was so easy then...LOL

I LOVE my Signcut and Inkscape :D :D
I like making my own files...so it works fabby!!

I on the other hand use AI and signcut, and go into MTC for a couple of things. It is nice having the opportunity to use all the different softwares.
