HELP!! Error Sending from Inkscape to SignCut

HELP!! Error Sending from Inkscape to SignCut

Postby bobcatgrl » March 7th, 2012, 10:42 am

PLEASE HELP!! I am getting the below error everytime I try to send something from Inkscape to SignCut. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and it has not helped. Does anyone know what is going on?

I HAVE FOUND THE ANSWER TO THE ABOVE QUESTION! It was McAfee treating one of the files like a Trojan. I turned it off and everything is working fine.

But I do have a second question that I have not seen a forum solution for. Whenever I transfer any svg files from Inkscape to SignCut (that was not a purchased file), I get a blank page in SignCut. I am assuming that I have a setting issue on the items I am creating and trying to cut. Any help is appreciated! THANKS!

looks like your anti virus has singled out the extention from inkscape to sign cut as a virus you'll have to either disable the anti virus and or check the setting on your computer to allow the program to run properly the reinstall signcut.

Take a look if your template is in root rather than layer, and then check the opacity of the fill/stroke. It has to be set at 100% to show in Signcut

I love this forum! I was trying to cut last night from Inkscape to SignCut and got this same message. I gave up and ended up exporting from Corel as AI (SignCut crashes anytime I try to send directly from CD) and was able to cut.
Until I read this post I had forgotten that I'd changed antivirus software a couple of days ago. Easy fix!!

bobcatgrl How did you turn off the setting that keeps deleting the file in inkscape and signcut? I have had this problem forever and cant figure it out.

under the firewall in windows -control panel/all control apnel items/ windows firewall then in the top left there is a place to click that you allow programs and files to beallows thru. then it depends on the antivirus program you are using as to where it is located to turn on or off the programs you wish it to scan .

Isn't this with just certain Antivirus programs. I use the free AVG and never have had a problem.

Norton and MacAfee are notorious for it. And sadly, AVG did it to me too a while back. Norton is by far the worst.

Nope never had a problem with AVG, I think it is because I am not technical. My hubby pushes his computer and software to the limit, and then has issues which of course he can fix. Me I know probably only a fraction of all my software and can't push it to it's limit. LOL.
