Help with Export to Signcut from Inkscape

Postby Angel135612 » December 11th, 2011, 10:08 am

I had to reinstall my OS (Win 7) and all my software. I set up Norton to exclude Signcut from scanning and everything else, and I still can not get the export to Signcut to work from Inkscape. I have reinstalled the plug in, Uninstalled.. reinstalled Signcut, and everything else I can think of, and I still get the following message.

C:\Program Files\Inkscape\python\Lib\site.py:150: Warning: 'with' will become a reserved keyword in Python 2.6

'import site' failed; use -v for traceback

Traceback (most recent call last):

File "C:\Program Files\Inkscape\share\extensions\sendtosigncut.pyw", line 3, in <module>

import sys, os, shutil, _winreg

File "C:\Program Files\Inkscape\python\Lib\os.py", line 758

bs = b""

SyntaxError: invalid syntax

I just drew a square in Inkscape, did the Object to Path, and tried to send it.. not using anything too detailed. And it won't send, it doesn't even OPEN signcut this way. I have my dongle in the laptop, and got that set up for Signcut, and I can open Signcut just fine. I just can't export from Inkscape. Any ideas that I haven't already tried to fix this??

Re-boot your computer before re-installing though so it takes everything out of the registry.

And delete the Inkscape folder in your program files too

I uninstalled Inkscape, rebooted, and then installed, (I didn't read to remove the folder before I did all this) and it is now working!!! Yeah!!!

I hate having to reload programs... once I get things working I don't want to change anything, but when the computer gets stupid and the only thing you can do to fix it is to reload the OS... you don't have much choice in the matter. Hopefully I will have a chance to try and cut something later today, to make sure everything is working like it should.
Thanks for the help.
