I agree Suzan. I am not on the UK board much since this one started but when I first joined that board Gaz was very helpful. And, of course we have our Tyler here.

The error message I got is: c\Program Files\Sign-cut\plug-ins.exe failed (error 740: the requested operation requires elevation.

I am getting the same error, I already placed the folder on the exclusion list for Norton... I am trying to get the plug in

I turned off norton to reinstall it and now I get the error message error opening file for writting: C:\progrmafiles x 86\signcut\GITKUSBP.DLL

Please help!

I dowloaded it from the website from signcutpro and when I unzip and run the plugin installer it says I don't have signpro or inkscape but I installed both ink .47 Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With windows you do not need to manually install the plug-in, just re-install Signcut over the top of itself

Norton creates several issues with SignCut. I ran into a similar problem the other day where it wouldn't let me install the plugins directly from within the menu, even though I had reinstalled SignCut and made sure it was on the exception list. I was able to do it though by going to the directory where it was installed, C:\program files\signcut, and opening/running plugins.exe.

Don't know if that helps.

No go. :( I installed sign cut with Norton off over itself. Installed the plug in from the folder like Tyler suggested. Nothing. I keep getting the same error when trying to reinstall plug ins from sign cut. When installing from the folder locaation it goes through and seems to go work fine. I have inkscape .47 I had .48 but uninstalled it so it could work with Signcut. Any other suggestions? I am running a PC with Windows 7. Signcut is on the exception list for real time and scans.

Any other ideas?

THanks!!!

Check your inkscape .47 extesnsions>export>sent to signcut.

It should be there! That is the same issue I ran into with Norton. It didn't want to let you run the file from within SignCut, but it should be installed now. If you have any other problems, let me know!

I am really confused now. I uninstalled and installed everything about 10 time, now I have inkscape.47 and I see the export!!! So I drew a quick star and hit export to sign cut andit says there is nothing in the export folder so do I have to save all my files to the sign cut export folder first? I thought I could just create my svg and hit export to take it to Sign cut. Do I have to save everything to the one folder?
Thanks again for all your help!!!!!!!!!!!

I think after you draw your star, you need to go to Path>Object to Path,... then you should be able to send it to Signcut. Just drawing the star, isn't an svg or a path that Signcut can "see".

Hi Angel, I did that, made a path and when I went to export it the message said "there is no file in the import-export folder." When I set up my preferences in Signcut I assigned import/export folder. If I put something there it shows up in inkscape but only the last file I saved to there. I can't seem to get a path straight from ink to signcut.

THanks!

When you installed Inkscape and Signcut, did you do so to the default locations?
If so you should not have needed to assign the import/export folder

Yes you are right! My default folder locations were messed up and once I fixed it - voila! It all works now! Thank you so much for sharing all this knowledge!
