I did it, print and cut!

I did it, print and cut!

Postby bubbles_aunty » May 21st, 2011, 2:48 am

I decided that no matter how tired I was when I got home from work tonight, that I was going to stay up and figure out the print and cut. I did it! I am so excited.

I can't wait to do more of these this weekend. I was a tiny bit off on the animal from Lettering Delights but I am still happy with it.

I am loving my cougar!

I followed the information from Sheri's blog http://mycardspot.blogspot.com/2011/02/print-and-cut-tutorial-for-black-cat.html and Christy's blog http://everdaylittlethings.blogspot.com/2011/01/print-and-cut-video-using-make-cut.html Thank you both, your tutorials were a big help!

Thank you everyone. I used MTC Phyllis. I duplicated the square and cut and pasted in place each square into it's own page so each square would have it's own registration marks. Then I just kept loading the same piece of cardstock and printing each page with a square. I ended up with one piece of cardstock with 12 squares and it made adjusting my laser registration easier since I could just make the adjustment in MTC and then test cut a square.

I also was not sure how many squares I would need, so before I started cutting, I scanned and copied the cardstock with squares so I would have another sheet of cardstock to work with with out having to go through and print each square again if I needed it. It worked well for me. I attatched the file I made. My adjustments ended up being X -18.25 and Y 23.25.

That is great! Now, take your laser calibration X and Y offset numbers, write it on a piece of masking tape, and stick it on the inside lid of your machine. That way, if you ever lose the numbers, you can get them back pretty painlessly! And the numbers are hidden out of sight.

Wow what a brilliant idea Tyler! Guess that's why we pay you the big bucks around here! ;) TFS

I think this needs to have its own thread in the tips and tricks area.
