I have a Black Cat Cougar and I am using inkscape and signcut. I am cutting a file (attached). On the first run it cut two full labels with the names (betty and trish) then the display said " paused" I clicked pause and it would not get out of paused, and never finished. I reset the machine, checked the cables and setup again to cut the remainder. It cut half a label and paused again, I waited and nothing... it never progressed. I of course need to finish these projects for teacher week and I am at a loss!

Normally when the machine pauses you are cutting out of range. Are you sure the design is within the cutting range of the machine? Also check for a node that may be left and is causing it to pause.........because that one node is out of range......

Just looked at the file. I don't know what size machine you have, but that file is almost 11" wide by 12 high. Again, be sure your design is not too far over to the left of the machine......

Looks like that from your siggy line you have a 15" Cougar machine. Like Gigi, I think you have your mat too far over to the left and it is going outside of its cutting range. You need to have the mat closer to the right side of the machine, especially when cutting something that gets close to its cutting width. The machine has a wider opening then its cutting width so you can get mats in and out, but it will not use the entire opening size for cutting with. It starts from the right side of the machine and goes over from there for allowable cutting area.

That's my best guess. Just be sure that your design is within that 15" measuring from the right side over......

Weird thing happened - my signcut would not show the cut but then would cut fine, so the fix (I googled it) was to reset all settings and then voila - it came back.
