Computer says it is cutting, but it is not...

I have a Lynx and use Sure Cuts a Lot. I have been cutting frequently, and out of nowhere my computer display would say that it is cutting, but nothing happens on the machine. I closed the program, shut down the computer and restarted it. Switched the USB ports and still having issues. Now, it freezes my computer when I hit cut.
I used my husbands lap top to see if it is my computer and it is having the same issues.
I uninstalled the program, reinstalled and still cannot fix it. Any suggestions? Is it the machine?

When you go to the cut screen check the port it is set on, you will have to change it from auto to the port yours is set on and that will show once you hit the drop down. I had the same problem not long ago and emailed the software people who told me what to do. Even now mine switches itself back once in a while but it is an easy fix once you know what to do.
