New here and cannot get started

I bought my machine 2 months ago but was so intimidated by it I am just now trying to learn it.

I downloaded SCAL3, I downloaded the driver, I changed my port setting and still it does nothing when I click cut on SCAL3. Yes, it is online. I am so frustrated. I just want to play with this and I have several ornament orders that my cricut cannot accomodate. Please help! Thank you!!!!

First thing I would check is the cable, make sure all the connections are tight, and that there is nothing wrong with the cable. If you have a different cable you can try, that will help to see if it is the cable or if it is something else.

I checked the cable and everything is fine there.

Are you getting any error messages when you try to send something to cut? Are you just picking a shape out of the SCAL library to test it?? Just curious. Have you tried to resent the machine? It's possible that you accidentally changed the baud rate or one of the settings on the machine. Are you sure the com port is the right one? Just thinking....

Really curious if you are getting an error message like " no machine found".

No error message. I may have changed a setting b/c I really have no clue what I am doing! lol I will try resetting the machine. Thank you!

I don't know what's wrong, but I want to encourage you. You WILL get it up and running, and you WILL be able to successfully learn the machine. Trust me. I had so many problems in the beginning, mainly because the learning curve was a little steep, but now I’m having a blast!

Yippee!! So glad!!

Trust me - that cures a lot of issues because it is so easy, especially in the beginning , to hit a wrong button and change the figures.
