probably a stupid question.

probably a stupid question.

Should the top of the machine be able to be lifted up and stay? I have to hold the top up when I try to adjust blade, etc. I do see that there is a white cable tie around the belts on the right inside. Should that be cut? Thanks for your help.

How far back / up are you lifting the top? Mine will lift to about 90 degrees, which makes the lid almost vertical to the machine...and it will stay there with no problem. If I only lift it slightly, then it will fall back down.

Mine will not go up to 90 degrees. It seems like something is holding it. Should it be easy to lift it to the 90 degree point? I am afraid if I use a lot of force I'll break it.

Mine easily goes up 90 degrees and all of my cable ties are cut........ I don't have a Lynx so cannot speak directly to that.

IF you have a Lynx that's why......there are 2 screws on the back of the machine right about where the lid tilts back....they are what's stopping it....Now Sherri and Tyler can't tell you to remove them as they are the makeup of the machine...but I can tell you from experience..I DID remove them and had NO PROBLEMS with the structure or operation of the machine....I just kept them in a safe place so when I sold my machine I put them back in......be careful thought when you open the lid all the way up that you don't pull the cable out.....it shouldn't be an issue...just wanted to give you a heads up......
