Engraving glass ? or acrylic

Hi all

Want to engrave something for my new grandson - has anyone engraved on glass ? If not why not ?

Any hints or tips on how to set up the file to engrave on either including hatch fill etc gratefully received - want to include his name , date then airplanes, trains, cars etc - also something connected with Australia since his father is - so any thoughts on that would be great

At one point decided to do Sydney Harbour bridge and the tower of London but that might be a bit ambitious to start with

anyone have any good suggestions please

I know Penny has engraved on glass, I haven't tried that yet. I have, however engraved on acrylic. It's not really any different than metal, or probably a cd. I'm not very good at explaining the hatch fill process, but I know Penny and Diane are, so maybe they will be on soon and help. (Rachellann is as well, but she isn't well and she's also trying to go to school.)

Oh, and of course, Dawn is as well!

Yes I did an article for Through the Craft Room Door engraving the Memories Glass......it's super easy!!!! basically the very same steps as acrylic and the CD's that Dominic did.....but you'll need to have the Hatch Fill Extension in Inkscape to do your filling....I believed someone shared that link in this forum a few weeks ago.....
