Keep getting - pause- on my machine. won't cut

I have had many good cuts with my cougar however I am trying to cut today with my Cougar and and after I get everything lined up and press cut the blade moves to where it should cut but then stops and the machine is reading pause. Not sure what I am doing wrong or is this a software issue? Thanks in advance for your help Cindy

Is the carriage at the left hand side when it goes into pause?

Sounds like you are out of range. Be sure your mat is lined up on the right side and your design is within the cutting dimensions of the machine. I think if you line it up on the right side you should be fine......

I am still having this issue and still need someones help on this please . I have everything lined up on the right side and also checked to make sure I was not out of range. Still get pause on my cutter.

in SCAL this is often caused by the virtual mat being set up wrong or in the wrong orientation causing the cutter to move too far left and out of range. Not sure if the same thing happens with MTC if that is the software you use?

IIn MTC, this will sometimes happen when you have something (with me it is some little basic shape or something) that is off the virtual mat. It usually happens when I add a basic shape. If you use MTC, look at the "Layers" on the right side and make sure your "cut designs" look like they should.

I am cutting again . Louise:I had the mat at the wrong size. So of course that would make me out of range . Thanks everyone.

Yeah on getting cutting again. Don't you just hate it when it is something so simple and easy to overlook, and it gives you days of headaches trying to figure it all out????? But I.bet you never make that same mistake again

that's why I always look for that tiny speck of something that I "added" that is way off the mat. I've learned to look at my layers and see if anything looks wrong!
