I understand why it works - still think it's amazing!!

didn't your parents ever teach you to not sniff glue?
Kisabird wrote:I thought had this figured out....I did some test cuts on my paper and got the right force set. Then I did a couple of test cuts of part of my design and blam - it's eating, no GNASHING, my paper up. I've adjusted force and speed and blade height - to no avail it seems to be getting worse. My shapes are simple text - sans serif, curved, at 3/8" tall so not teeny tiny by any means. I still have been unable to produce 1 single project yet.
here is where I am now at the end of the night:

see how it's just eating the paper up?
this is earlier:

it was cutting nicely, but not all the way through the paper, so I upped the force and when I did that, it started to 'catch' on the paper and drag it around - notice the messed up rectangles. I ended up taping down all 4 edges of the paper with blue painter's tape and that seemed to work, so I went on to testing cutting my text and no dice.
another shot from earlier when it started misbehaving.

any ideas??
is it my design? the paper? the force? the speed?
