SCAL 3 - rotating 90 degrees

SCAL 3 - rotating 90 degrees

Postby Kisabird » June 3rd, 2012, 7:49 pm

In SCAL 3 I have my mat set up 16x12 - horizontal to match how the carrier actually goes into the BC. But when it is 'cutting' or right now drawing (as i am using pen tool until I get this figured out) - it is coming out rotated 90 degrees on the BC!

If I switch SCAL to portrait - it spits my carrier out and starts to draw/cut without any paper.

So far my digging in online tutorials has not turned up an answer for this. anyone?

Set the virtual mat orientation to portrait, but the measurements so that on screen the mat is still 16 across and 12 down. Then feed the mat into the cutter so that the top of the virtual mat goes into the cutter first. Then it will cut exactly as on screen. There is a section in the quick start manual about this

There is also information in the Learning Center on SCAL that may help you get started.

Thyme, I did follow the quick start instructions but SCAL will not allow me to set it at portrait and then make it on screen 16 wide x 12 tall - it forces it to be portrait.

JEricson - thank you!!! I will try this later!

got it working. really wish they would just say paper size instead of virtual mat size. I was setting up my 16x12 mat when really what it wants is the size of my paper that is going ON the mat.
