Anyone who cuts Fondant with the Cat?

Anyone who cuts Fondant with the Cat?

Postby JensMom » November 1st, 2011, 3:22 pm

I want to make a shower cake for DD and have cut fondant before, but with the Expression. I now have the Cougar 13 inch. I want to make this cake below. If you have cut fondant with the cat do you have any tips? Blade? settings, etc? I did a search but not much turned up.

Thanks

I know someone on the UK Forum cut it. That or gum paste. I know it has to be thin and they let it harden up. That is as much remember.

Get it thin, let it harden up also. I got better luck with a 45 degree blade than a 60 degree blade. Don't need much pressure at all.

Thanks so much. I use the marshmallow fondant, so we will see how it cuts. It did well with the E, but I sold the machine so it's going to be an experiment with the Cougar.

This cake shouldn't be too hard, it looks like strips of fondant with a scalloped edge, I think I will add a few little rattles and baby ducks etc. between the ribbon.

Anything the expression can do, the cougar can do hands down. It is just a balance of finding the right recipe. Please let us know how it turns out and how you did it!
