Silver Bullet Forum Challenge - Sept. 16th 2013

Postby MichelleMyBelle » September 16th, 2013, 6:15 am

Good Morning Everyone!
Starting today, the Silver Bullet Challenge Team will be bringing you 2 challenges per month. We’re looking forward to learning some new techniques and having some fun along the way!

Our sponsor for this challenge is TreasureBoxDesigns. The prize will be a $10 Gift Card for their store.

Your first challenge, create a Banner or Wall Hanging. The theme is Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving. Below are some file links to help get you started along with an example pennant wall hanging (not my project photo). :) You don't have to use the linked files, feel free to use what you have.

You will have until September 30th to complete your challenge. So get you Mojo on and start creating! ;) We can’t wait to see what you all come up with. Please post your completed projects in this thread.

This is going to be so much fun! I can't wait to get started. I'm thinking that a Thanksgiving banner would be nice, as that holiday gets neglected at our house. (Decorating wise)

I just popped over to the sponsor and purchased a file for this project. They have some really cute stuff!

Hey, everyone. I finished my first banner tonight. It was so much fun that I am already planning to make two more for my mom and MIL. I think they will love them. I will post pics tomorrow. I hope more people will join me in having fun with this project.

Here is my first one. It is hanging in my foyer. Now that I have made one, I can see about 10 more places that a banner would look cute.

Wow - that is fantastic. I love it - everything about it is so well done. Love the rosettes with the acorn and leaf centers. Such a great job!

Thanks, Gigi and Retta. It was a really fun project. Quick and easy to put together, once I had the design done.

I won't have time to play in this challenge, but I hope things settle down a bit so I can join in on some of the others coming up.

Elizabeth, that banner is too cute!!! I never thought about making banners, but I may have to rethink that and make one to put on our mantle for different holidays/times of year. I haven't had time to do much crafting at all lately, and I'm sure my Silver Bullet is feeling neglected.

Elizabeth, beautiful banner. They're a versatile craft project, make them for smaller for cards or displayed as a wall hanging. Cute pumpkins!

Elizabeth, Where did you get the file for the banner itself? Not the embellishments but the banner. I don't know if I will have time to make anything, but I have been playing around with a couple of ideas in the software to see if I can do what I'm thinking. I thought I had some banner files, but I can't for the life of me find them in all my folders. I did download the ones from Birds Cards, so I may use those, or just create my own file... LOL.
